The Connecticut Symphonic Winds under the baton of Charles Brian DePaul presents their next concert of the 2013-2014 season, “Symphonic Sounds Gone Sonic!” Saturday, March 22nd, 7:30pm at the Roger Ludlowe Middle School Theater in Fairfield.
The evening highlights notable orchestral works and features a new transcription by arranger Paul Hanna of the Adagio from Rachmaninoff’s Symphony #2. The program also features major wind composers, Rossano Galante and Alfred Reed. Reed’s rarely heard powerhouse, Third Symphony will conclude the evening performance. Written in 1988, it is seldom heard due to the complexity of composition and advanced demands of the performers. A true evening of sonic masterpieces and rarely heard music not to be missed!
