In 1992 Gin Blossoms leaped into hearts, minds, and stereo's all across America. The jangley pop and college rock anthems of "New Miserable Experience" took the charts by storm; songs like "Hey Jealousy," "Allison Road," and "Found Out About You" took them from being what College Music Journal called "the best unsigned band in America" to being the major name on DJ's lips.
In 1995, Gin Blossoms became a household name when they contributed their smash hit "Till I hear It From You" to the soundtrack for Empire Records, a movie timeless in its own right. The record went platinum, but the band called it quits in 1997.
The members of Gin Blossoms toured with various side projects including Wilson and Rhodes' "Gas Giant," and "Roger Clyne And The Peacemakers," but as they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder, and in 2002 the band reformed. As Wilson put it, "we make a noise together that we can't make otherwise." The band, as it happens, had only gotten better with time.
