Tired of mowing, fertilizing, and watering your lawn? There is another way that is more ecologically sound and some of your neighbors are already doing it. This talk will present the landscape design method of "xeriscaping".
Xeriscapes are designed landscapes that utilize drought tolerant plants and efficient irrigation systems. We will discuss plant species, design aesthetics, soil science, and irrigation options. Both local and international precedents will be discussed. In addition, we will cover the history of the xeriscaping movement and why it is important today. Aimed specifically at residential properties, the presentation will be approximately 45 minutes with an extended question and answer period.
