Nov 9, 2013
03:00 PM

Billy Steers, creator of the popular children's book series Tractor Mac, will be at the downtown Fairfield University Bookstore on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 3:00pm for a book signing of his popular children’s book series Tractor Mac. He will also read to kids on the 2nd floor beginning at 4:00pm for Kids Story Time--a simple craft and snack to follow. The event is free and open to the public. Perfect for kids ages 3 and up!

With ten titles now in the series, the books have sold over 300,000 copies. The books were inspired by bedtime stories Steers created for his sons when they were young, which told of the adventures of their red toy tractor. Characterized by brightly colored, detailed illustrations and absorbing stories that are ideal for young readers preschool to age 7, the Tractor Mac books now include a dynamic cast of characters: Tractor Mac, Sibley, the work horse; Farmer Bill; Sam, the ram; Fetch, the dog; Walter, the goat; Margot, the cow; and Plane Jane, the plane.
