Fairfield Art and Galleries
Revel in an afternoon filled with stunning creativity in Fairfield
Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen." Our busy lives may distract us from taking moments to appreciate the feelings art can give us — but with a plethora of local art galleries we don't have to worry about taking time to visit the city to see awe-ispiring art. Here are the best places in Fairfield to see and feel art:
Artist Brett Wingate
Brett Wingate is an award-winning advertising creative leader who has been written about in the NY Times. As a Graduate of the School of Visual Arts, Wingate created his vision of the spirit and power of women by presenting the female image in fantastic and surreal worlds devised through a multi-generational process of manipulating, painting and re-photographing. This collection was exhibited in several galleries in NYC, some of which include the Exeter Room at Webster Hall and the Karma Sutra Lounge in Danceteria. Next Wingate created his Madonna series — commanding beauty. These fearless designs incorporated unwavering sweeps of spirals and mazes and creeping undulations of serpentine forms in artistic profusion, while exuding a quaintness giving an unprecedented visual and spiritual experience. Wingate is currently working on a floral series — in which his linear style, the freshness of paint strokes, and the hidden colors peeking through multiple layers evokes a feeling of flowers speeding by, pausing for a brief moment for us to see them.
