The largest selection of tequila on the East Coast resides in Fairfield

Tequila lovers don't have to go far, Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill opened its doors in January. Geronimo features the largest selection of tequila on the East Coast and has already been awarded a ‘very good’ by the NY Times, offering hundreds of different tequila selections from which to choose.

Owners Tim Scott, Rob Bolduc and Marc Knight are “adamant that it is not Mexican–it is Southwestern cuisine,” said Scott. “Southwestern cuisine is all about the chilis, so we have chilis that are brought in from New Mexico, and Buffalo and Elk meat from the Dakotas.”

What sets this apart from other restaurants in town?

“Oh, well that’s easy,” laughed Scott. “The tequila! We have over 400 tequilas. It’s also really about the vibe and the feel of the place, it's unique as far as the tequila bar and the food that we serve.”

Geronimo features different tequilas each month and serves six different tequila flights which include:
The Geronimo Flight: Don Diego Santa Anejo, Clase Azul Reposado, Don Julio 1942
Rock 'n Roll: Tres Rios Blanco, Hotel California, Cabo Wabo Reposado

Prefer top shelf tequila? Enjoy one of about thirty cocktails made with Extra Anejo and Reserva Tequila. These tequilas compete with the best cognacs and brandies in the world and tend to have layers of caramel, tobacco and molasses. Prices begin at $13 for a Don Julio 1942 and finish at either the Clase Azul or the Don Lunas 10-year for $200.

A dozen different Margarita cocktails are offered by the glass or by the friend-making pitcher such as:

Geronimo: Anitguo silver, Ferrand and fresh lime

Cucumber Cooler: cucumber infused tequila, muddled cucumber and cilantro, triple sec, fresh lime juice

Smokin’ Sage: Fidencio silver mezcal, pineapple and lemon juices, cane syrup and fresh sage.

Fist Full of Dollars: Herradura Selection Suprema Ultra Anejo, 150 year old Grand Marnier and fresh lime juice

Lunch and dinner selections include: tacos, chili, soup, rellenos, quesadillas, main plates, greens/salads, in-the-bun entrées, burritos, Navajo fryebread, tableside guacamole to share, and more. Most popular dishes: chicken quesadilla, mahi-mahi and tuna tacos and the grilled hanger steak – marinated, grilled and served with tri-colored fingerling fries tossed with cilantro onions and Cotijo cheese.
