To support the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, friends, family and music lovers gathered for a benefit concert featuring the philanthropic group Band Together. A sellout, the show was held at the Fairfield Theatre Company and featured Nicole Frechette, Billy Genauro and the band’s cofounders Rob Fried and Jerry Vigorito. The concert attracted hundreds of guests and helped support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association: education, support for those affected by the disease, medical research and activism. This night was as personal and communal as it was fun, and attendees danced and sang along with the musicians. “Most of us in this show have or had a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease,” said Vigorito. “Coming together as artists and audience, many of us caregivers, is how we pray, create healing energy and resolve our feelings of powerlessness.” Nearly $16,000 was raised, with donations coming in even days later.
