Rose of Hope

The Twelfth Annual Rose of Hope Luncheon, in support of the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, was the center’s largest fundraising event yet. More than 550 people gathered under the tent at the Fairfield home of Patti and Tom Keegan, including guest speaker Governor Dannel Malloy. Proving that sometimes laughter is the best medicine, Julie Bowen, women’s health advocate and award-winning actress of TV’s Modern Family, delivered a keynote address that had the audience doubling over with laughter.

The Rose of Hope Award was presented to the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation for its continued support of breast cancer screening programs. At the close of his acceptance speech, vice president of the foundation, Frank Pomer, presented a generous $25,000 donation—ensuring that the Breast Care center will continue to offer exceptional care.
