Turning Tables

Surrounded by exquisitely designed tables, meant to symbolize the sense of community of a shared meal, supporters attended Project Return’s first annual Gather Round the Table Luncheon. The Patterson Club in Fairfield hosted 240 attendees for the sold-out event. Project Return reached out to twenty-six local interior designers and home stores, including Raquel Garcia Design and White Birch Studios, to create lush, comforting tablescapes for the luncheon.
The speaking portion of the event included a conversation with Letty Cottin Pogrebin, an author and social justice advocate, and her twin daughters Robin Pogrebin (a reporter for The New York Times) and Abigail Pogrebin (a former 60 Minutes producer and author). The women spoke about the importance of supportive family environments for young children and the stresses of balancing work and family lives.
The luncheon raised nearly $60,000 in support of Project Return’s programs and services. The organization serves as a source of healing for young women at crucial points in their lives. With twenty-four-hour care provided in a group home, transitional living, aftercare, and afterschool programs, Project Return creates a safe space for young women and adolescent girls in crisis.
