Rooms with a View, the nineteeth-annual design blowout, once again returned to the Southport Congregational Church. The theme of the most recent event was Americanism: Timeless and Timely Design. Twelve of the area’s leading interior designers—including Lynne Scalo of Westport’s Lynne Scalo Designs and Amy Ruger Whiteley and Claudia Ruger of Ruger Interiors in Fairfield—shared their expertise by creating inspiring home vignettes. Each one was like peeking into an impeccably designed home. Attendees also enjoyed a pop-up marketplace boutique with more than thirty vendors as well as tasty food and refreshing drinks from the café. Famous designer and television personality Thom Filicia served as the honorary chairman and contributed a divine room vignette. The weekend included glamorous events, such as a champagne tour and dinner with Thom, author appearances and book signings, a fashion show sponsored by Phillip Bruce Salon with fashions from the Carousel Thrift Shop and J. McLaughlin, and a Harvest Table Luncheon by Festivities.
