Holiday Food Drives in Fairfield

Opportunities to act in the holiday spirit

There are numerous opportunities in town where you can pitch in and provide a delicious Holiday meal to those in need. Food drives, individuals, families, offices, retailers, schools, scout troops, teams and more can get in on the action.

The Connecticut Food Bank provides nutritious food to over 300,000 people in 6 local Counties year round. During the Holiday season, they encourage people to donate frozen turkeys (8-10 lb. size), canned vegetables or donations of dollars so they can purchase these foods at their discounted wholesale rate. Donations can be dropped at 74 Linwood Avenue during their extended Thanksgiving hours November 18th to 22nd from 7am — 5pm. “We also receive donations from local retailers — Stop & Shop and Shop Rite. One year approximately 700 turkeys were donated to our main warehouse in East Haven,” said Mary Ingarra, Communications Director.
