After receiving so many fantastic photos for our Photo Contest, we wanted to ask the winners what inspired them to take the photo and a couple others to get to know them and their photos better.

What inspired you to take this photo? Why did you choose to submit it?
I was inspired by the beautiful beach and the start of the summer to take this photo. The storm clouds way in the distance served as a metaphor to me that I should take advantage of the summer while it lasts. I chose to submit this photo in particular because of its timeless feel, which is what I love about the beach.
What is the best advice you can give or have received that you can share with other photographers?
The best advice I have ever received is to shoot, shoot, shoot and hope for something interesting. My advice to others would be to explore different angles, even for just one simple object. Make something boring into something interesting.
If you could shoot anything or anyone who or what would you want to take photos of?
I would love to take photos of anything and everything! My dream is to photograph food and the culture of food around the world.

What inspired you to take this photo? Why did you choose to submit it?
I was inspired by the pictures I had seen of people stopped in the moment in mid-air because I thought they looked so cool. I chose to submit this picture because I loved the bold colors and that the girls were coincidently in the same position. I thought it represented the kids if Fairfield well.
What is the best tip you can give or have received that you can share with other photographers?
The best thing I have learned is to have colors or objects that catch the eye. It makes the picture a lot more interesting.

What inspired you to take this photo? Why did you choose to submit it?
I was inspired to take this photo because I thought it symbolized Fairfield and it has character of our town. I chose to submit this because of its colors and composition and I feel it resembles our town.
What is more fun for you to shoot candids or posed pictures? Why?
I think it is more fun to shoot candits because it shows character and its not a "fake" photograph.
If you could shoot anything or anyone who or what would you want to take photos of?
If I could take pictures of anything it would be my friend Cara Wagner she is really goofy and likes to be crazy in photo shoots and also my dog because I like animals and every picture you take of an animal is different and it shows their personality throughout the photos.
We would love to thank all the students who submitted photos, all of which were brilliant and made our job that much harder choosing the winners. We would also love to thank the Photo Contest sponsor FastFrame of Westport whose generous support is greatly appreciated.
