Bring the kids...

First Night Westport will celebrate its 20th anniversary and all are invited to join the celebration. This family oriented merriment creates a fun and safe environment for the community through the Arts. Sponsors, donations and volunteers join forces to put this event together each year, allowing hundreds of underprivileged and underserved children and their families an opportunity to experience this magical event. Family, friends and neighbors will enjoy this chocked full celebration as they bring back community favorites and also add brand new entertainment. Countless venues throughout town will host activities for both young and the old. Children’s activities will begin at 4pm and adult activities throughout the night. Enjoy 7 hours (4 — 11pm) of family friendly entertainment culminating with a favorite highlight: the exciting fireworks display and bonfire at the Jesup Green. Plus, don’t forget to take a horse and carriage ride! Admission buttons are $10/person.

The Fairfield Museum and History Center will be holding their Holiday Express Train Show from 10am — 4pm. Delight in the magic of model trains winding around their track through a winter wonderland of spectacular trees and beautiful holiday scenery. 370 Beach Road

Just Adults...

NYE with Kung Fu and Friends; the Bobby Paltauf Band and The Heavy Pets will perform on Stage One at the Fairfield Theatre Company. Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm. Order tickets online. 70 Stanford Street

NYE Charlie Karp and the Paula G Reality will perform at The Black Duck Café, in Westport at 10 pm. $10 per person. 605 Riverside Avenue

Celebrate the Cabaret, with a Night Fever — Bee Gee’s Tribute Show at 8:30 pm followed by an after show bash by Dance Party with DJ Jimmy Cabaret. DJ Cabaret promises to get you up and dancing to your favorite music, with a big nod to the 70’s and Disco. Disco attire optional. Admission includes the Bee Gee’s performance, the Cabaret after show party, plenty of party favors, coffee, and Danish at midnight. The New Year’s Eve Ball at Ballroom Elegance Dance Studio is an elegant evening of dancing and entertainment from 9pm — 1am. Dance along to great music or perhaps take a lesson, enjoy appetizers, desserts, wine, soft drinks and a champagne toast at midnight. Dress Code: Black Tie. $80/person. The Artisan Restaurant will be hosting a lovely New Year’s Eve event featuring a Prix Fixe Menu. Two seatings are available. From 5:30 – 7:30pm there is a 3 course meal for $65/person. The 8pm seating offers a 5 course meal for $145/person. A live band will be playing, so take advantage and dance the night away! Specialty cocktails will be served. 275 Old Post Road, Southport

The Grey Goose Café will feature wine and  drink specials as well as four seatings. Choose from 5-5:30pm, 7-7:30pm, 9pm or 9:30pm. The fireplace will be roaring and the patio will be open, so if you're looking for a cozy evening this is your place. 246 Old Post Road, Southport

Pizzeria Molto will offer their regular menu until 11pm. A DJ will play from 10pm — 2am, and a complimentary glass of champagne will be served at midnight. 1215 Post Road
